question 4: If you are planning to meet up with a mathematician to go on vacation, and your train leaves from the west coast at 5 pm and your compartment has a bathtub with a steady flow of water you can’t turn off and a steady flow of water through the drain, and he leaves from the east coast at 5 pm and has the same kind of bathtub arrangement on board, 1. where will you meet, 2. how many math and math history books will he have in his luggage.

I can’t speak for the general case. Right now, though, I’d be interested in meeting up at maybe the Alabama Splash Adventure or else Dollywood. Personally I don’t tend to bring many mathematics or mathematics books in my luggage, or put any books except in carry-on because I don’t dare let them get out of sight. But a good book about the history of light rail transit? Yeah, I’ll have that to carry around.
