How I’m Holding Up In The Circumstances

So, you know, despite it all I had a productive weekend. I mean I renewed the ham radio license that I never use and don’t even have a radio for and don’t know where I’d even get a radio now that Radio Shack is a disbelieved memory. Go ahead, try telling people about it. “You could go in and buy one single 47-ohm resistor, and then they’d ask you to join something called a `battery club’ for some reason.” You’ll be laughed off the nostalgia circuit with material like that.

  1. I think I still have my old Battery Club card somewhere. You never know when it might come in handy. Mark my words, Radio Shack shall rise from the ashes of its former self someday. And when it does, I want my free battery, dadgummit!

Also, I will gladly trade you a perfectly good 68K resistor (1/4 watt … sorry) for your 47-ohm one. I need it to completely my collection.

        1. I believe they did, but if my memory is not too faulty, I believe it was a very tiny selection. I had much better luck with inductors at places like Digi-Key. I knew some old-timers who wound their own, but I was never that patient … or dexterous.
