  1. “Yowza,Yowza, that’s a real star trek motion picture disturbing your thoughts,Spock” – not said in Vulcan by the Vulcan high Priestess, Star Trek The Motion Picture.

    1. I kept going back and forth on this one, and was leaning towards using it in a Famous Sci-Fi Movie Misquotes.

Fun fact: the line was originally recorded in English, like all the dialogue on Vulcan, but then when the moviemakers saw how cool the Klingon dialogue James Doohan worked up was, they went back and dubbed it all, which is why the Vulcan word for ‘yowza’ is also two syllables.

  2. The Robert Wise director’s cut translates the Klingon navigator’s “Wakzook” translates his first sighting of the V’ger cloud as Klingon for “Yowza” (or “Wowzers” if you’re using the Inspector Gadget edition of the Klingon/English universal translator.)

    1. I like so much of the director’s cut, but I just can’t get behind the change in the Klingon dialogue, nor in reducing the diameter of the cloud from 82 down to 2 astronomical units. I am glad they left in the scene where Decker and Robot Ilia play ‘glowing table squares’, though. That’s an important scene.
