A couple of weeks ago I got momentarily confused between Vincent Price and Prince. This was all my fault and not at all Price’s, nor Prince’s. I wasn’t reading carefully enough. But it revealed to me that there was some link between Vincent Price, Saint Louis, and roller coasters. Who knew?
A Labor of Like knows, and came out of a relatively quiet period of blogging to explain the story. I’m glad to know more than I did before, and I hope you will too. The story’s pretty densely packed; I hope you all enjoy.
It doesn’t actually explain the roller coasters thing technically speaking.
Why not split the difference and say Vincent Prince?

Everybody thinks Price was a horror movie actor, but that’s because they didn’t see him in “Champagne for Caesar” (1950), dir. Richard Whorf, where he played Burnbridge ‘Dirty’ Waters, a soap magnate… Just saying (and then there were the Dr Phibes movies, which were LOL funny.)

I also know Price from a radio series adaptation where he played Leslie Charteris’s The Saint. I quite liked the character as he played it.
I’m not a fan so I don’t know what the Saint fan community opinion is. I understand Rex Stout hated the radio adaptation of Nero Wolfe starring Sydney Greenstreet, but then, could anyone possibly beat that casting?
