Just thinking about a For All Mankind alternate universe, set in the continuity of that Underdog story where the first person on the moon is Simon Bar Sinister of all people. On the one hand, sure, a United States landing got to the Moon first. But it was a supervillain setting foot, and then Cad Lackey second. And on top of that the third person is the first woman, Polly Purebread, but she’s kidnapped even though she was supposed to be going anyway. Just saying, it’s a bundle of weird questions about national pride or embarrassment or all going into that.
Anyway given all that you can see why I haven’t had the time to clean up the coffee table.
